I guess we don't know the configuration for the return flight? Because wouldn't it be more impressive that it flew JFK-TLS? I mean, JetBlue does non-stop delivery flights from XFW to JFK, but at least there we know the plane is empty.

Certainly, at this early stage of A321 LR testing, the aircraft weight was low.

For FF at Hamburg she had only two tanks. Not sure if she had three tanks installed for the NY trip yet.

It's not long - especially since all the plumbing for three ACTs has already been done, as was clarified by Airbus to justify calling the aircraft an A321 LR though she had only two ACTs at trial start. I don't think Airbus is installing the third ACT before all trials in the two-ACTs configuration have been completed.

A bit like the A321ceo replacing their domestic/intra european A310 at Lufthansa back then. Narrow bodies taking over from wide bodies.
