Rio is ready too Though AF now is flying an A380 to Rio, whether the airport is ready is debatable since AF is facing many airport problems. That could lead to a debate on the title of the thread too, versus "A380 ready" and "A380 approved", as the article's title mentions "Tom Jobim International Airport approved for A380 operations"........

Would this be the second gate for the A380? Korean Air has been operating A380's to ATL for a few years already.
