I don't think the engines are the problem, the problem seems to be QR.... (or QR's business class seats, as mentioned lately....) So many journalists at the Dubai Airshow, and nobody seems to have asked Al Baker what's going on...

Unless journalists follow A380 production - which I doubt - nobody knows this frame is in storage.

This picture shows the difference, the A350 has a white/silver strip down the leading edge of the tail on an A350 and not on an A380 !

Without engines is not complete rollout - our retarded bird is still in the "wait state" Harsh but fair Was it really 6 months since arrival at Toulouse until leaving the assembly bays !! I think we need some category to indicate that a frame has emerged from FAL (semi) permanently even if it isn't strictly 'rolled out'. All the dates in posts and the frame summary give the indication that it is in store but hasn't left FAL. It DID leave FAL on 17/9 (if I've got my dates right). That date is significant and I believe should appear against any 'unfinished' frames which appear. Certainly against those which don't resume assembly in a reasonable 'assembly' time frame. Would we honestly indicate that a frame is in final assembly for 2 years? (Wasn't there a partially completed frame which appeared temporarily on the flight line before going back into FAL?)

hi noistar! Where would we indicate the storage state for the frame, do you mean the frame's summary on the first post?...

I wouldn't mention roll out, to me roll out means ready to fly on the FL.....
'In storage' would perhaps be the date where it was all wrapped up?... (25/10?)..

Or you can use
TLS roll out - mm/dd/yy (No Engines) TLS 2nd r/o - mm/dd/yy (With Engines) First flight - mm/dd/yy

A good solution, but it should say (No EA or RR engines) for clarity
