Thank you! It is a very hard work, getting the photos in a good condition. One or two hours I have to spend, to get the photos in a suitable condition. Most are scratched, some over exposured or out of focus (okay, the cameras in the 1950s had no auto-focus and the SLR were not invented yet).
But the man who made the photos was an enthusiast, thats for sure.
Also I found some photos made at LeBourget in 1961 and at Brussels in Summer 1958 (Expo traffic). But these photos really needs intensive care, because the quality is poor (especially the BRU photos). Pictures from other airports than FRA will be released seperatly.
The research takes time also (even for me, who knows a lot about aviation history). While I found the information about the Aeroflot Tupolev 104 at Frankfurt very easily (even FRAPORT had photos and the exact date), the first arrival of the Caravelle (F-BHHI) and the Comet 4 is not mentioned.
The Caravelle I was not easy to determine. Although the company name Air France is applied on the fuselage, no registration is seen. Only the missing name and the word CARAVELLE under the cockpit section led me to the conclusion, this aircraft must be the second pre-series Caravelle on a demonstration tour in 1958, before Air France started the scheduled Caravelle-service to Frankfurt in February 1959.

While I'm writing this lines, my scanner is still working and I will check the next photos to be chosen for rework...

Always fascinated by these vintage passenger liners, especially the constellation's unique design. These days, everything looks the same.
The constellation seems to have very long legs. How does the ground to fuselage clearance compare to today's aircraft? It looks higher than most of them to me.
