Considering it is MSN11 - not such a big loss..... It seems than nobody want this bird anyway It has been sold to the Korean Government for a 2020-or-so delivery. I do not know ? - it has a status "ntu" HL Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner Korean Air Lines ntu VIP 2x GEnx-1B opf Korean Government (according to planespotters.net)

... And, as she has probably been outfitted now, the most expensive part of the aircraft must be the interiors. She will definitely be repaired, and will fly again !

Well if she is outfitted why wait so long ? I do believe there are other issues. And the fall of the front might add to those. We do know how looooong it took those "trouble teens" to get out - and that some customers in the beginning agreed and later said strict NO. Of course in the case of BBJ plane the weight i.e. the fuel is not such a problem. As always we will see.

Well if she is outfitted why wait so long ? Because they still operate 747-4B5, serial 10001, ex-HL7465, c/n 26412, and plan to do so untill it will be retired in 2020-or-so.

I've heard of a few close calls where engine parts broke through the fuselage, but this is the first time I've heard of a fatality as a result of such a thing happening.

The tail to fuselage joint is very strong for it to not dislodge as a whole part.
