We did change the name - I was opposed than and frankly was not the previous name better ? OK it was the London bus, but.... We are here interested in passenger planes with emphasis on Airbus, but it just brought life. If someone would start to look closely after BO production like we do on AB all of us would read it and comment. If a new name ... it should be more "encompassing" Q what was the previous name of the board / site ? As I said the "London bus" .... doubledecker.boards.net I am for keeping the name as is. Too many changes does not bring anything good.

That was a good name, if the name changed all members and guests would get emailed about it, I think it would encourage more members if the boards name was more inclusive. It puts off anyone who is not Airbus oriented.

Our main focus is A380 and that were we started in the old forum and here when we started with double decker. I don't believe we will be able to track other plane type frame by frame specially when production rate increases. Look at B787 no one posts or Tracks deliveries any more. Same thing will happen to A350 when production rate increases. While each A380 is tracked.

For me there is no need for changing the name. I love the A380 and that is why i here.

PS there are some interesting stats that they publish in the delivered table - There are a lot of similar sites who track Airbus different plane types production and deliveries similar to All Things 787. But we still do here. My point it is hard to track everything. The forum started in 2009 for the fans of A380 and I think we should stick with what brought us all together here.

I am happy for no change to the name, we might need a new name in the future if AB and Emirates can't agree on the Neo ! Or just change to A350.boards !

I was a proponent early on for changing the name to something a little more generic than specifically being about A380s. As the A380 moves towards mostly EK related production, there's not going to be too much in the way of interesting activity from the A380 production side of things. Maybe existing frames will have something to discuss about. I'm of the opinion that the A350 and the A320neo will have a fair bit more interesting things and activity worth following and discussing even though the actual production may be a bit difficult to track like we do for the A380. I liked the idea of using a3xx.boards.net. It is simple and can have two meanings as the wiki article points out. A3xx refers to all Airbus models while at the same, writing it as A3XX refers to our doubledecker before it received the formal A380 designation (URLs usually don't discriminate between upper case and lower case, however). Having said that, if everyone is happy with the status quo, I won't mind keeping it.
