I'm checking now, so far out of the 15 or so frames that I have data of, indeed MSN096 and MSN087 flew back to TLS with a XFW-ID,... Fabien Here is my two cents: Looking at the flightnumber and the flightpath this was set out to be another Cabin Test Flight. The first hour or so is typical of that, climbing, descending and lots of turns in the Hamburg area. It was decided to continue to TLS only DURING the flight when all systems were go. Transfer flights (meant as such) as far as I know always go straight to TLS, and indeed with a different flightnumber.

I think indeed you are right, flight IDs are set for what is thought might be the flight... (flight test or transfer). Though, usually flights set as a transfer (with a transfer ID) start with tests (turns, up and downs) around Hamburg (for example MSN036, MSN074, MSN075, MSN076, MSN079, MSN087, MSN093) and eventually fly south, there were just a couple of instances where the flight set as a transfer-ID was just flown south straight (for exemple MSN128) or almost straight (MSN100)... Funny case was MSN030, transfer flight to TLS was MSN30C, though included just 2 or 3 turns around XFW, then flew south to TLS... Fabien

Fabien,
is there a case known where the flightnumber MSNxxC (for transfer) landed back at XFW. Because you noticed turns etc on transfer flights: it is then also possible that a major fault is detected in the early stages of the flight and the transfer abandoned.

Usually the flight MSNxxC are the ones just for flight tests around XFW... But I see what you mean, a transfer flight MSN04SZ (for exemple) that landed back at XFW, I didn't find any of them in the data I have, also I can't remember any I think... Fabien

Nice!! Wing tips are still on yet,... (Welcome to TLS Olivier lol!) Fabien the wing tips were still on MSN138 in XFW and that was mid fix, I don't think it can be essential to remove them as part of the fix

Thanks for the tip UK380!... We saw both MSN121 and MSN128 without wingtips during wing repairs, if MSN138 still has wing tips, it confirms for sure that wing repair is not done during OF. Fabien
