Agree, thanks for the insight Mario. It confirms what Engine Alliance said to me in July: the hostile climate in the UAE is something that really shouldn't be underestimated and will give R-R some headaches. EA had there fair share of problems in the early days, but through experience claim to have mastered them. Still it would come as a surprise if R-R wouldn't be aware to offer a solution, but don't forget they have a few issues on their hands right now: massive internal/financial problems, tech issues on the Trent 1000, introduction of the XWB-97 (which has only be to Al Ain on A380 MSN001 for a few days). As mentioned earlier in this thread I am unaware that a modified Trent 900 has been to the UAE for tests. I posted this tweet last week, it is coming from a presentation to investors:

IMO there are known issues with the T900 EP3 for Emirates, known from other applications of the Trent engines in dusty environments. I expect that it is known what RR has to do. I think RR has simply fallen on time and not all necessary changes are done for the engines delivered now.

Part 3
And what could have we concluded with the certain sureness so far? Not much. The Emirates, well-known airline based in Dubai, UAE, somehow suddenly and rather unexpectedly, raised the possible problem with the Trent 900 engines that should power their next 52 A380-842 aircraft. The question is why so suddenly and just shortly before the delivery of those first aircraft of this type. Did Emirates know for those possible, here already described, problems and before, or is this, even for them, quite a new information? Were people in Rolls-Royce aware of the possible and probable problems related to the engine? Well, some of them probably were, but why was the factory quiet so far? Has anybody brought the proof that the problem really exists? As a matter of fact; has anybody, at all, taken any of the Trent 900 engine for testing and just now appear with the disturbing and discouraging tests´results, quite aware of the fact something urgent has to be done about it? What a stupid questions, someone might say, because who is the only one who could have had an engine available for testing in addition to the factory. Well, it seems we could with the certainty, and not to so little surprise, conclude that one Trent 900 engine was available to Emirates for the whole year! Please, take a look at this... the same information from some undoubtedly reliable sources ...
... all the images are links to the articles ...
I´m sorry; when I saw this image below in the article, my first thought was: ´Please tell me this one on the left side is from Emirates and the other one from Rolls-Royce!´ ... and I just didn´t have a choice but to edit the image a little bit :-)
...and so, now we know that one of the Trent 900 engines was at the Emirates. All right; they had a chance to learn something about the engine ... but no chance, someone would say, they had a way to prove and test the engine in the way to be so sure, just in this moment, they could get into troubles once they start using the engine...
Emirates Engine Test Facility
I wonder if I´m personally, after all of this, more secure in much more facts than I was before? Not really. The only fact I was sure in, all the time, was only that, at least one, Trent 900 engine has been thoroughly tested. Somewhere. One more fact, I am sure in now, is that the engine could have been tested in more than one location. And if this testing was indeed conducted, as I strongly believe it was, the only thing I can say is:´Well done Emirates. Well done Sir Tim Clark. That´s the way to represent and to protect the interests of your company!´
Nice regards
Mario

My calender shows December 2: Tim Clark said he hoped to get his first Rolls A380 today. Sorry Tim, it is still awaiting CFF. You should have known when you told the press, which should have checked. On A380.boards for example.

Sorry Tim, it is still awaiting CFF. Even still waiting any move at all. To me it will look exactly the same as when Emirates refused to take delivery of MSN101 MSN103 MSN105 etc... at the time of the wing-cracks, when these 3 flew back and forth between XFW and TLS trying to find a solution. Hopeful to see delivery of RR-EK-frames before FY ends, though not even sure?... Let's target at least a 2017-Q2 delivery.

Well, what have we seen so far? MSN225 rolled out since 2 months and did not move at all, and I find it also so long before anything was announced, I suspect they confirmed that something was wrong during MSN228 all flights (3 flights at TLS + ferry flight early Oct....), why wait 2 months?
Should a fix be easily found, MSN225 would probably have at least started taxi testing and done some flight tests, but again, .....no movement....

On the other hand we have CFF on MSN224 today and no movement, not even roll out with MS221. MSN222 has just been delivered and MSN223 has most likely done its CAF. MSN225 is a frame running number wise behind those frames. I would start wondering first, when MSN225 does not show progress in december.
