So much for all those doom and gloom comments speculating that UA would never take the A350 ! Of course, they are taking it ! Now, who knows, the -1000 version may come later. It turns out I was not far from the truth in my previous post in this thread !

I thought the A359 had more range than the 789! Well, it partly depends on payload - to carry a lighter payload, the 789 is a better choice than the A359. The A359 and the 789 in their slides definitely don't carry the same payload, but UA doesn't provide any detail. Characterising the 789 as 'too small' also means 'not carrying enough payload'.

I thought the A359 had more range than the 789! In that chart, the 787-9 comes with 250 seats, and the A350 with 310 seats. Dropping payload results in more range.
