JAL thinks about exercise options for 25 more a350 to complete 777 replacement: In my opinion ideal aircraft to replace 35 767 is a330neo.
And they would only need to get the -800neos, and that would still be approx 30-40 more seats per plane aswell !

In my opinion ideal aircraft to replace 35 767 is a330neo. Being a major 788 and 789 operator, JL is unlikely to ever order the A330neo. When necessary, 767 replacement may well be done by redeploying 788s, while Jl would order some mix of A350s and 787s for more capacity.

The linked article actually claims JL eschews ten-abreast seating even on domestic A350 flights. International flights being shorter than domestic flights, there is fortunately no chance at all to see ten-abreast seating on any JL A350.

JL has 18 A359s on order. Does it really need all of them for domestic service, or could we see some JL international A359 flights ?

"JAL is expecting another eight A350-900s to be delivered over the course of 2021, to bring it to a total fleet of 15 by the year-end." simpleflying.com/japan-airlines-777-retirement/Don't think the statement above is very accurate, as JAL received 8 A350s already by the end of 2020. Adding 8 more in 2021 would make it 16, however JAL is one of very airlines still taking delivery on regular speed and that's why JAL frames have been rolling out much faster out of MSN sequence. Also year-end could mean March 2022, not end of 2021 as JAL's financial year ends on 31st March. JAL has refused to forecast for 2021-2022 because the market is too much unknown.
