We should have 12 deliveries for 2018.... a380.boards.net/post/76136/thread Airbus did not say it was planning 12 deliveries in 2018, it said rate change would take effect in 2018. As long as we have no clue about 2017 convoys, we don't know how to translate the announcement into 2018 deliveries. I think they did say 12 deliveries a year from 2018 Quote from AB Press release 12th of July "London, 12 July 2016 – In line with the current order intake, Airbus has decided to target 12 A380 deliveries per year from 2018."

Even that quote is unclear. 'Targeting 12 deliveries per year' can be understood in many ways.

I do believe we will have 12 deliveries since the production will be whole year on the rate 12 + we have probably "a couple" pieces stored i.e. ......

I agree. I somehow things are getting lost in translation and are a moving target with regards to EK and the new order being finalized from OI to firm status. My educated guess is that they will settle on 8 frames delivered this calendar year of 2018... MSNs: 232, 238, 240, 167, 162, 248, 249, and 250.

a380.boards.net/post/110714/thread Having MSN248 and MSN249 back in the system, reduces the number of 'new' frames Emirates will take this year, despite of all those MSN already convoyed....... (that are actually now spotted assembled with no engines..).. MSN238 and MSN240 both at XFW should rejoin the system soon for a 2018 delivery, making it only in fact MSN250 as 'new frame' to be deliverable this year, all the ones after should be in for a 2019 delivery......
