A development! Can't wait for more info if true. Given the nature of hifly, I assume it'll be second hand aircraft.

www.ch-aviation.com/portal/news/58948-portuguese-acmi-specialist-hi-fly-to-add-a380s"Hi Fly (5K, Lisbon) is planning to take delivery of two A380-800s over the course of the next couple of months, official airline sources have confirmed to ch-aviation. The Portuguese ACMI/charter specialist's president and chief executive Paulo Mirpuri said in an e-mailed statement that the first of two A380-800s would be put into commercial operation during the first quarter of 2018. A formal announcement concerning the requisite aircraft's identities, as well as their end-customer operator, will only be made in October once all the relevant contracts and permits are in place, he added. It is recalled that Singapore Airlines (SQ, Singapore Changi) has already confirmed plans to retire its maiden quartet of the type - msn 3, 5, 8, and 10 - all of which are owned by Dr. Peters Group unit DS Aviation and managed by Doric Asset Finance. ch-aviation analysis of Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows the first, 9V-SKA (msn 3), was removed from service in June with the Singaporean operator having since confirmed that the aircraft is at Singapore Changi awaiting its return to DS Aviation. For their part, Hi Fly and its sister carrier, Hi Fly Malta (HFM, Malta), currently operate an all-Airbus fleet consisting of one A321-200, three A330-200s, eight A340-300s and a single A340-500 on behalf of a wide range of short- and long-term ACMI customers which, this summer, include Azores Airlines, the Belgian Air Component, Corsair International, Garuda Indonesia, Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas, Royal Air Maroc, the Royal Australian Air Force, Tunisair, and XL Airways France." Looks like Hi Fly will take delivery 2 a380 from dr. peters group previously opearated by SIA (maybe msn 3 and 5).

Thanks for posting that kronus ! It's exciting to see a strong indication that new homes are being found for the SQ birds coming off lease.

The article doesn't say that it would be the ones from SIA at all, to me it could also be MAS ones..... Why not also the 2 BC frames that should be taken by EK, things could have changed?........

It looks to me the SIA A380's are the only obvious choice, especially as the report says the contracts will be confirmed in October. That's an almost seamless transfer of leasing contract. Let's keep an eye on the flight schedule of SKB and her withdrawal from SIA service, but I guess this won't be before two new A380's have been delivered.

MAS could well lease 2 A380s to Hi Fly.. Looking farther, Airbus could also lease the 2 SKY frames to Hi Fly........... I think the discussion should be moved to the thread 'New Customers'......... (thoughts?.... )
