The tweet says it's the new winglet although I think it looks more like the current winglet.

As we are counting delivery flights, I make it 3. In our guessing games, we do speculate on delivery flights. Our delivery totals, however, match official releases (= legal handovers). The January number should be at least four. With all the frames working up and ready for first flight, 7 and 6 respectively, and the two Qatar frames MSN88 and MSN132, I would look to something like 10+ in January. MSN 88 is expected to be delivered in February.

Airbus could not hide it any longer: just curious so all the frames after MSN 219 will be 280t with larger sharklets ?

Airbus usually offers a range of weight variants ; even so, I expect the 280 T to get a large share of future deliveries. As regards sharklets, I imagine the existing wing-tips may be more efficient on some routes, so that it would make sense to offer customers a choice. I would expect Airbus to go that way, and become the first manufacturer to offer a choice a two sizes of winglets, at least for some time.

As the whole wing gets changed at the same time with the new winglets, I assume that there will be no choice.

As Airbus mentioned last year, 280t becomes the base model, instead of 268t. Customers can always de-rate the aircraft as the ACAP documents shows weight variants from 210t to 280t.

Certainly, there is no question about the weight variants. I am also convinced, like Mjoelnir, that all newly-delivered aircraft will have the latest wing twist. The valid question, in my opinion, is whether, at least in a transition period, a customer can have the new wing with the old winglet (the reverse being of course impossible). It all depends on whether the old winglet has some advantage in certain conditions.

That's a good question. We don't know yet if the new winglet becomes standard.
