You're right, Sciing. The Volaris share of the Indigo Partners order (80 narrowbodies including 46 A320neo and 34 A321neo) was booked by Airbus in December 2017.

Great news ! The comparatively low number of expected firm orders (20 is not many for EK) makes me think this is a gesture of good will from Emirates, to relax the tension while the negotiation goes on.

I think now is Airbus' turn to show they are commit to the program by getting orders from other airlines.

Some how Leahy's remark actually make people feel like Airbus is commit it if and only if EK is.... My guess is EK still want others to be onboard for sure before next but order.
