it seems that Sichuan Airlines' A350 hasn't firmed up yet When every "analyst" is whining about a new order, and at the same time you can not find anything on Airbus Facebook, Airbus Twitter and Airbus.com then that's all it is: whining

it seems that Sichuan Airlines' A350 hasn't firmed up yet How could they firm any A350 order, when China has not certified the aircraft yet ? When certification is granted, then we'll have an official Airbus release.

How could they firm any A350 order, when China has not certified the aircraft yet ? So you think Airbus has built three A350's for Air China without a signature under a firm contract .....

Well, Air China is an insider in the Chinese system, they certainly have official backing, whereas a foreign lessor would be much more cautious when dealing with China. Even if Sichuan is buying MSN 60 directly, I don't know if they can take the risk ... EDIT : thinking about it, the customers could take the risk to sign a firm contract, since in any contract for the sale of new aircraft, the manufacturer undertakes to deliver an aircraft compliant with certification, so that the customer could reject the aircraft for lack of certification.

When certification is granted, then we'll have an official Airbus release. Why? Many aircraft were ordered firm long before the 1st prototype was started to build (that was long before the 1st one flies which was long before certification).
