Their commitments doesn't go away with a new owner. True, but we have seen in other cases that 'firm' orders may sometimes be canceled, deferred or amended. New owners often introduce a different policy ... True, but the penalties can be heavy. As seen with Sri Lankan as an example

The takeover of WOW by Icelandair is off. So I believe that WOW will go bust soon, if they do not find another buyer.
So, yes I think WOW will not be in the position to take the A330neo.

That's sad news, Mjoelnir ! Do we know why the takeover failed ? Too much debt on the books ? The buyer having second thoughts ?

The price was based on due diligence. WOW stood worse than on the deal weekend projected. The price than went below what WOW management would accept. Both sides agreed to stop the takeover. There will be an Icelandair shareholders meeting this morning at 08:30 we will know more after that meeting.

Another potential investor, ready to leave the present management at the helm, probably explains why WOW Air didn't cave in to Icelandair's demands.
