I looked at the Q3 report for the LH group and do not find anything about a change to the 20 frame 777-9 order.

It is just the press (with help from Lufthansa....) that mixes up the order. It was announced as 34, but turned out only 20 was firm and 14 was options. This is still the case, it is just Lufthansa that has sort of defined those options in a little different way

IIRC it was never reported different back then. Those 14 options might just be less likely to be taken up one day.

Boeing never booked the 14 as firm. So actually no change.

Boeing never booked the 14 as firm. So actually no change. I think there is a clarification. The status of these 14 'non-orders' was previously unknown. Now they are officially options, which means that they will lapse if not exercised.

As reported Lufthansa is not hedging the financing for these options any more. So they moved away from wanting to convert them to orders one day. Those 14 options are just "weaker" options right now.

Could this mean a chance for the A350-1000 for Lufthansa instead?
