From Simple Flying?? Are you serious?? Against better judgment I read this article. Painting all white is now "New Look" or "Neutral Coating" "Former Air France Airbus A380-861 F-HPJB" --- it is STILL an AF aircraft (edit: in service to MIA now!) "The French flag carrier also has 10 other A380s within its fleet" "Simple Flying reached out to Air France on its plans for the Airbus A380 retirement but did not hear back" --- I wonder why

Forgive me my stupid question but what do they do with it now? It's white, so obviously set to leave the AF fleet as the lease term is over. Hadn't AF negotiated some shortened service instead of the usual post lease overhaul? So they pay instead of having work carried out on a plane that is set to be disassembled anyway. What work needs to still be done now?

It is all strange - if this very expensive work is carried out one would guess some customer is in the shadows ?
