somehow I can not imagine Mark Forkner taking the fifth over a misunderstanding, but that could of course be something else he was not talking about. More importantly, why he pushed the FAA to leave it out of the flight crew manuals.

However, given so many people with the knowledge of the testing that D. Gates interviewed, I can't really find the reason to doubt it. In the meantime, I'm guessing there are more than just this which drove Forkner to take fifth. We just need to wait until things get revealed.

I just realized listening to part of the video when Dennis Muilenburg testifies to congress, how crass one change in regards to MCAS in the MAX from all other Boeing frames including the NG is. In all now produced Boeing frames, a movement of the column stops any automated trim action, even employs a brake on the stab trim, not so when MCAS is active, that roles right on.
