Express cargo is lighter weight than general air cargo. This is why some P2F for Amazon might work without to many changes. Yes, but this isn't 777 duty. There is a reason why Amazon has been converting 767s, and reportedly has even held discussions with Airbus.

Amazon's business is huge and growing. More cabin volume can't do any harm. As they have picked used 737 and 767 I see 777 as the next logical choice.

Using the 777 would significantly increase delivery costs - an important concern for Amazon. I don't think it's going to happen.

Depends how expensive their aircraft are. More used 777-300ER will become available and less expensive to lease and acquire. That's a fact. I'm not talking about the 777X freighter here only about why it is needed later.

Merged the two 777XF threads and updated the title.

What is Qatar Airways doing with 50 777XF?
Currently they have (if I am right) 4 A330-F200 2 747-8F 24 plus 2 on order 777F
If the 777XF has more capacity as a 777F you can replace the above planes with 30 777XF (if you need to repalce) 10 more for growth is okay, but 20 ?? Or is it more as Akbar Al Baker did it in the past , order more as you need and change the order later to other planes? Additional that he want to give a "sideswipe" to Airbus!!!!

Hello addasih, That was my thought that Qatar Airways will renewing the existing fleet but it does not really answer my question. What will they do with 50 777XF? The A350F has +11% Volume to the current 777F If the new 777XF is similar to the A350F or better Qatar Airways can replace the 32 777F/A330-200F with 30 777XF. Maybe the 747-8F is to new to replace but if they do it you need three 777XF. Around 20 Planes is a lot for growing! I stick to my opinion, Qatar Airways is doing as usual, order more and change later. Maybe 30 fixed Order and 20 Options But we will see.
