Airbus did remove the Transaero order from the books, so why does VEB Leasing needs to find another buyer? Air Accord must be a special purpose vehicle created by VEB Leasing. The size of the deposits held by Airbus explain why they are deeply concerned ...

Still, Air Accord has only 3 A380s on order. What happened to the 4th A380? It was canceled by Airbus at the same time the Air Accord orders appeared instead of the Transaero ones. At the time, it was difficult to understand why the Transaero collapse translated into one cancellation only. We now know that a refinance deal had previously been agreed and executed between Transaero and the Russian lessor. We can hardly guess, however, why one frame was left out of the deal.

We can hardly guess, however, why one frame was left out of the deal. Perhaps construction of the last intended frame had not yet started.

I don't think Airbus actually started production of any Transaero frame. The airline may have intended to keep property of one frame, or the lessor may have decided to cap its risk ....

It is moot discussion. But look at it from positive view. If they do feel they want/can find new user good for all involved parties.
The main question remains - can they do it ? Very very very doubtful.

I don't think Airbus actually started production of any Transaero frame. No eyewitness report: reports from XFW this week indicate that parts for the following frames were seen. I was not there so cannot confirm accuracy. 188 189 190 191 192 193 196 200 201 202 203 205

What an amazing thread. If Airbus ever lose a record of what they've done, and where, just ask A380boards.net!

So, I was wrong and parts have been built ! Peter must be right !
I think, however, that these parts can be re-used later for another customer (EK, as with BC ?). I say 'later' because Airbus must keep them available until all legal/financial issues have been disentangled.
