Frames like MSN136, MSN138, MSN139 & MSN140 can be deliverd before the end of the year but it would not be logical to do so, because the final wing fix will be available by then. Instead, those frames will spend 2 months longer in XFW/TLS to get their wings repaired, en that explains the delivery schedule for Q1 2014. I thought the final wing fix was available now and "just" certification would be left.

I seem to remember from the "old forum" that British Airways would get the first increased MTOW aircraft but also demanded the wing-fix..... Please correct me when wrong

I do not talk about the new wings, I talk about the final fix due to be applied to the old wings. The first fix was only temporary.

I do not understand your question. The final wing fix should indeed be ready by now but must still be implemented in the first 44 EK frames. It takes 2 months to apply the wing fix, which would explain why MSN136, MSN138, MSN139 & MSN140 will be delivered in Q1 2014 instead of the end of this year.

There is a lot of confusion about wing fixes.
I understood that the "final fix" has already been applied to (some? many?)wings, but has not been officially certificated by EASA. When certification is delivered (expectation was Q 1 2013), these wings can be considered as permanently fixed.
I may have misunderstood what I read on this issue, though.

I was thinking that Airbus is implementing the final fix for "old" wings this year and that the final fix was waiting for its imminent certification. I expect frames up to but not including Qatar MSN 137 to gett the old wings but I expect most of them getting the final fix installed before delivery this year. I understood that Emirates would not apply the fix on already delivered frames in Dubai, but would fly the planes to, I think Toulouse or perhaps Hamburg for the two month to install the fix. I am still thinking that is why we would see more Emirates frames delivered, final fix already applied, to allow Emirates to take older frames, successive three at a time, out of usage for the time it takes to install the alterations to the wing.

What you are saying is what I have in mind, expect you are forgetting that it cost about 2 months extra assembly time to apply the wing fix. So instead that (for example) MSN140 could be delivered at the end of the year, it will now be delivetred in February 2014. Same for MSN136, 138 & 139.

Production times have been coming down and some work could surly be done concurrent to the work in the FAL or outfitting. I just do not believe that Airbus is talking about delivering 25 frames in 2013 and will only deliver 21. Last year we had similar discussion about the advertised 30, but Airbus delivered.

Seems like the given information was indeed correct, MSN140 was the last (EK) frame with the old wing design.
