Rumour said PEK-AMS will soon fly by A380 That would require a major - and in my opinion unlikely - change in Chinese policies. So far, Chinese airlines have been banned from competing with one another on international flights. As a consequence, CZ has not been allowed to operate international flights from Beijing, which hinders their A380 operation. Air China doesn't fly PEK-AMS (nor does any other Chinese airline except for CZ) so there's no competition between Chinese carriers on the route.

AMS is not in Air China's new routes in 2015, I guess the competition here means more like Beijing-Paris route, because CZ planned to fly A380 on this one many years ago and Air China is not happy with that

That's good news for sure ! We don't know about the yields, though. I hope CZ manages to turn a profit on their A380s, to spur more orders from other Chinese companies.

That interesting piece also shows that CZ seems to be doing well on the LA route. Their passenger load factor is between 80% and 90% most of the year, with peaks at 95%, and they carry about one million pounds of freight per month (one third of what CX is carrying from HK with three 777 flights a day, denying any A380 freight disadvantage on that route). We miss information about their passenger yields and financial results, but the above numbers are very good.

...and they carry about one million ton of freight per month Um...million tons per month means 33,333 tons per day! Shouldn't it be more like million kgs per month?

Load factors don't say much, you can have high load factors with low fares and still losing money. How are the fares on CAN-LAX comparing to other, similar A380 routes and how much competition does CZ has on this route (the more competition the lower the fares could be)?
