Bombardier is pleased to invite you to its CSeries Aircraft Program Update in Mirabel, Québec, on March 7, 2013 starting at 10 am EST.

This event will also be available via live video webcast - including a question and answer period with members of Bombardier Commercial Aircraft's leadership team.

Note: UK-based journalists are invited for a briefing and tour of our Belfast, wing manufacturing and assembly facility, where they will also be able to join the live video webcast.

BOMBARDIER MIRABEL FACILITY

WHERE: 13100 Henri-Fabre blvd, Mirabel, Quebec, J7N 3C6
WHEN: Thursday, March 7, 2013
TIME: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm EST

TRANSPORTATION: Departing at 9:00 am, available from the Marriott
Hotel, at Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport, the Delta Centre-Ville Hotel and
from the Bombardier Administrative Center facility in Dorval.
REGISTRATION: Please register no later than February 28th by

Hm, no roll out but only a program update.

- Bombardier confirms CS300 airframe can accommodate up to 160 seats
- CS100 first flight by the end of June 2013
- 148 firm orders so far

I'm a little disappointed with the order book so far but I have no doubt that there are a lot of airlines interested in the type. I think it's a wait-and-see affair for the moment as it's a completely new aircraft and despite having experience in making regional jets, Bombardier will have to do more than A and B to prove that it can do what it says on the tin. Hopefully more orders will start rolling in once flight tests are in progress.

If it does, you should see what the A319NEO would look like. That thing has a fuselage length about a metre shorter but a fan some 20cm bigger than this.

Those are some giant engines on a tiny plane! Are bigger fans more efficient than smaller fans at a similar level of thrust?
