Nice find on the article...... but it specifically references the RAF's second A400, ZM402. I have seen those Turkey/Mildenhall/USA A400 flights at least once before in the past. On 16 March when ZM402 settimg off across the Atlantic the other A400 was leaving Mildenhall and was going the other way towards Turkey FR24/A400.

Another bad new for the A400M program, its capability of refueling helicopters is abandoned due to the turbulence of counter rotative propellers. DGA, french ministery in charge of buying and testing weapons and vehicle, is looking to buy C130J with the Foreign Military Sale procedure. A team of DGA is currently in U.S. to negociate with Lockheed. Hercules will be use to refuel Caracal helicopters. source in french: www.air-cosmos.com/2015/04/02/31921-la-france-va-acquerir-des-c-130-maj

RIP to those who lost their lives in this tragic accident. It is a reminder of how dangerous a test pilot's job can be. Recall Airbus's A330 test flight fatal crash as well as the serious but not fatal accident involving an EY A340-600. They're some of the bravest people.
This accident is going to apply even more financial pressure on the A400M programme. Airbus shares opened lower today.

OK, sorry I am new to this, just delete my offending attachments / posts. I will try the Flickr route if I can work it out ! Do you (we members) just need money for more space?

Yes if we need more space we will need to buy more space but FabienA380 is trying to keep it free forum and I agree with him. You can read more about the discussion of buying or not buying more space here a380.boards.net/post/28122/thread

I have been absent for two weeks, and I hoped by now more would be known about the A400M crash. From the lack of news in this thread, it seems nothing has been leaked ...
EDIT : I just read the information in the MSN 23 thread about a software issue. This is what I was looking for.
