The quoted story confirms that Jetstar did take delivery of the aircraft and, collecting no revenue from them, now is burdened by financial costs. The reporter quotes the airline as saying "we are now choosing an aircraft leasing company to arrange a sale and lease-back on some parked aircraft in order to mitigate our financial burden". This statement is unclear, since a sale-and-lease-back agreement would not come free of financial charges (Jetstar would pay lease payments instead of interest, which would be no improvement). I therefore suppose that Jetstar has contracted a costly short term bridge financing agreement to purchase the aircraft. A long-term lease would mitigate the costs. The only genuine solution would be to lease the aircraft out, but they are painted in Jetstar's livery, and this possibility is not mentioned. Jetstar still probably expects to be allowed to operate them from Hong-Kong.

According to a discussion on a.net, Jetstar Hong Kong does not own any metal:
In other words, look for Qantas/Jetstar deliveries in the Airbus spreadsheet.

According to a discussion on a.net, Jetstar Hong Kong does not own any metal: In other words, look for Qantas/Jetstar deliveries in the Airbus spreadsheet. It starts of with a difference of five birds missing when one compares Skyliner, Planespotters and so on with the end of December numbers of Airbus. There were 5 A320 frames marked Jetstar waiting in Toulouse. They are expected to be or are registered as B-KJB (MSN5685 F-WWDI), B-KJC (MSN5725 F-WWBF), B-KJD (MSN5738 F-WWDQ), B-KJE (MSN5835 F-WWIF), B-KJF (MSN5850 F-WWBP) and designated or already formally delivered to Jetstar Honkong. In the meantime Frames for Jetstar Airways with registry # VH-... and Jetstar Japan with JA..JJ are being delivered, so it does not seem to be that the Jetstar Honkong frames are delivered to the other Jetstar group members. They seem to be just sitting around and waiting.

They are not indeed. But if they were formally delivered in 2013, they have to be listed in the Airbus spreadsheet under the name Qantas (because Jetstar Hong Kong as airline does not exist yet).

Yes 5 A320 on the Airbus spreadsheet delivered to Qantas but no A320 in the Qantas fleet, that are the birds.

Good The ATDB now also shows Qantas as owner for these 5 birds.
