Airbus sees A320neo orders, sets goal for earlier model.- European planemaker Airbus hinted on Monday at imminent orders worth over $10 billion for A320neo passenger jets, saying cumulative orders for the revamped jet would probably hit 2,000 by the end of this month. - "I think I can at least do 200," said commercial chief John Leahy, referring to the existing "A320ceo" model. "It would be nice to get to 300, but at least 200..." - Airbus is awaiting confirmation of a tentative $2.8 billion order for 16 A320neo revamped aircraft from Hawaiian Airways, while industry sources say the two manufacturers are scrapping over a potentially rapid order from Indonesia's Lion Air. - Boeing officials have vowed to maintain 50 percent of the market, disrupting Airbus efforts to hold on to recent gains. Leahy said he expected to keep a share approaching 60 percent. They're going to hit the 2000 NEO order mark earlier than I expected. Simply staggering!!! Let's set the bar a little higher...2500 before EIS!

So what happened to order for 200 737 Max aircraft, part of an agreement for up to 380 737s? Is the Airbus order instead of the Boeing order?

Lion Air firmed their order for 201 Max aircraft in 2012, and they still have 150 options left.

So who's next in line for a bumper order? Or smaller deals even?

Airbus looks at output increase for A320neo.- Airbus is studying a possible increase in production of its medium-haul A320 aircraft once a planned revamped model enters the market. - Immediate priority is to ensure a smooth entry to service, sales chief John Leahy said. - Airbus currently produces 42 of the existing model each month. - Leahy reiterated Airbus hoped to maintain 60 percent of the crucial market for the industry's most popular jets. - Asked whether Airbus would increase production to reflect its current sales advantage, Leahy said, "We are studying that," but stressed such an increase would be years away.
