Any idea anyone when China Airlines plans to retire the last 4 B747-400s? board made the decision for 747 service time shrink down to 16 ~ 17 yrs from 20 yrs given the last 4 were delivered in 2004 ~ 2005, 2020 will be the earliest time for them heading to boneyard Thanks kevin5345179!!

Now with two 777X BBJ versions on offer the 747-8 might lose the VVIP-market, it's last passenger version territory.

How about governments? Do Japan and Korea intend to take any 747-8 after retiring their 747-400? The upcoming "Air Force 1" will be converted from 747-8 that were already built for Transaero.

How about governments? Do Japan and Korea intend to take any 747-8 after retiring their 747-400? The upcoming "Air Force 1" will be converted from 747-8 that were already built for Transaero. Japan has just taken delivery of two 777-300ER for that purpose
