Additional sheets presented by AF at this morning's HY1 presentation: That's a good bit of accounting juggling the 400mn saving, you save that but have to buy 9 new frames as replacements ! It only works out better buying the new frames if you accelerate the depreciation of the A380s from 20 yrs to 12 yrs

Thank you, Sciing, the event was also discussed upthread, so that I forgot about the dedicated thread.

The sums are a bit different, listening to Ben Smith at CNN. Cabin upgrade €30-40 per aircraft (€210-280mln is you count 7), €50mln per aircraft on maintenance (350mln). That makes €560-630mln in total.

During Q3 2019, Air France took a €100 million provision on the early retirement of its A380 fleet. This includes 25 million in accelerated depreciation and 75 million in impairment costs. In Q4 another 50 million charge is included. Total costs will be 400 million until retirement in 2021.

Well at least repainting it white saves Air France from having to wash it, they don't like washing any plane 😂
