AirBridgeCargo plan to take 20 additional 747-8F aircraft, but can only take 3 per year. ... If they want (there is no firm order), and if they can (have they a market for so much capacity ?) ! If they do take them, Boeing will have to provide finance ...

It's really scary to see both big aircraft programs doing so bad in terms of new orders. I hope they can keep the 747-line open at a lower rate. Hopefully some big 747F-operators start to renew their fleets now. But with a weak chinese market, cheap oil and interest rates going up there is not much motivation to do so unfortunately. And then there are all those new twin-widebodies with huge belly cargo spaces.

I believe that the end of 747 era is coming. I do not think there is much hope.
They must have some production on the line. They can not afford to run it at a pace of 2 planes/year it is simply impossible. My guess is end of 2016 but as always we will see.
It is really hard to imagine some airline coming in with decent order.

All unfilled orders for the 747-8F are included in the firing order up to L/N 1540. AirBridgeCargo recently took 2 out of storage ( leased from Boeing ) but don't have any on order. Will be interesting to see what, if anything, gets added to the 747 orderbook in coming months. Geoff

AirBridgeCargo will firm the aircraft one by one, after taking delivery.

AirBridgeCargo will firm the aircraft one by one, after taking delivery. So what is going to happen ? BO will produce 20 white-tail 748F ? Interesting if they will take the risk !
