Airbus’ 2019 review video indicates Qatar agreed on an A380 cabin upgrade with Airbus. Earlier reports indicate the airline will replace its BC suites with a QSuite-like product, while also introducing new Economy seats this year. What do we make of this? Investing in the A380 that is supposed to be retired in 4-5 years? Or is money not an issue for Al Baker?

Actually, QR did say it would begin to phase out its A380s in 2024, but never said how long it would take to complete the type withdrawal from the fleet. Anyhow, as already pointed out by other posters, a U-turn from that airline would not be a true surprise.

Qatar also started storing A380s from March 20. Check Delivered Frames for details.
