Looks like MSN 1472 was cannibalized for parts. They can use the parts after they shot up a few more aircraft yesterday .....

Last year, Etihad's huge losses came from one-off events : - depreciation of their holdings in various foreign airlines ; - depreciation of the fleet value, the book value of which exceeded market value. Such losses depreciate the company, but do not necessarily affect its operational result, cashflow or future prospects.
If Etihad meets operational trouble, then the problem will be much deeper, but this remains to be seen.
Anyhow, I suspect EY owners feel that the company is in a strategic deadlock and are considering their options. They may double down on their investment (providing equity to offset part of the losses) or change strategy. They have said nothing so far, though remarkably Tim Clark has alluded to some possible EK play in case the owners are interested.
