This denial changes the picture entirely, in my opinion, if they soon return these planes to service as planned. I don't think it changes anything. It's not a Mexican denial, it's Russian. Just usual Russian blah-blah (they are used to that since 100 years or so). First let's see if those four (which would include the damaged/repaired one) really return by March 31st. Which incidentally is two months later than January 31st, the date which was quoted by TASS just two weeks ago(!).

Apart from the Russian bashing you are using (which I utterly reject especially in aviation matters), we are in agreement: we both wrote that what matters is that the planes be returned to service.

This new shrink is quite interesting. Usually, a shrink does not perform as well as the original aircraft, but this is a different case. As the aircraft is to receive a new, lighter engine and a new wing, I don't see why it would not be an excellent performer, even though of course 75 seats do not provide economies of scale, to say the least, when compared to 100.

All they had to do was check a flight tracker . . . I count three. Not flying: XA-JLV, XA-PBA and XA-JLP.

Which does'nt tell us the reasons why they are not flying. Is it scheduled maintenance ? You tell me. According to FlightAware XA-JLP flew last from Houston to Monterrey on April 7 and XA-JLV from Mexico to Ciudad del Carmen on May 13 and both have not moved since.
