Thank you, Grisu 17 and Baroque. I suspected the second number was indeed the options, but I thought there were more of them.
The firm orders in the table actually add up to 264.

I suspected the second number was indeed the options, but I thought there were more of them. There are less. Count the options ( 1 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 7 + 5 + 3 + 6 + 5 from top to bottom). I can not make any more than 34 out of this. The correct number however is 36. The Lufthansa order has not been firmed yet, so they still have 3 options. Firm orders are still at 262, as of April 30, 2013. It is not for Airbus to declare any airline bankrupt. They will only remove a firm order when an airline cancels the order, which they have not (yet) and again, the LH order is not yet firmed up.

Non-mobile link here.Let's speculate who the A380 order could be for: - Qatar taking up those free slots in 2015? Al Baker recently said that he may order more A380s according to this Bloomberg article dated May 6th.- Other possible candidates could be Turkish Airlines and Cathay Pacific but we've not heard anything else other than those rumours from very early this year.

Last December, JL announced a forthcoming "significant" MOU before year-end. Fans on all aviation forums speculated for weeks, but eventually nothing happened.
Yet I'll try this time again.
JL did not say anything suggesting that it was a particularly important order, so I guess that it is not from a new customer. It is a mere top-off order from ... well ... QR ??
That's just my best guess, but John may be taking us for a ride.

I do like his car-sales-man arrogance Personally I think we will see the LH-firming of the two additional 380's at Paris. Anything else in Paris? I don't know. Then there is the much expected 30 additional frames for EK. Seeing JL being so self confident my guess is he's got these 30 in his bag. However, will not be confirmed until the Dubai airshow in November (and therefore he is saying "if this were in December, maybe we'd have a discussion"). Just my two cents worth of speculation...
