Yesss I did already but when you look at it, it shows something really strange...... Also Basco for example doesn't appear at all on their website.... I think I'll try to ask a travel agent in MNL when I get there...

I think it looks like it indeed, but also that the flights don't operate on return/rotation basis, one day a one-way, another day another flight on the way back..... or I could fly to El Nido and bus to Puerto Princesa and fly out of there but I think I won't have enough time do to this...... I think maybe it'll be for next time.........

Glad you're booked on a 788 someone!! For you it wouldn't be too hard to try a A320neo neither?...... Yes, SAS used to ARN and Lufthansa to FRA on several flights, however, hasn't tried it yet. However, it is still easy for me to get a ride on the 737-600, had one on OSL-ZRH last week

Apologies for the personal story. Had a very good flight on EC-MMG , MSN1747, from MAD to PTY yesterday. Good to meet up with one of the latest members of the huge 'A300' family.

Geoff You're opening a can of worms here ! Are the A330/340 the same family as the A300/310 ? This is debatable. Here are a few relevant points. 1 - They do share the same manufacturer and the same cross-section ; is it enough to call them one family ? 2 - They do not share the same type certificate : the A330/340 were certified as new aircraft, not as new variants of the A300 ; I believe, however, that the A330 and the 340 were awarded two different type certificates (if I am wrong here, please let me know - I am talking about type certificates, not about pilot ratings), so that this legal approach may not close the discussion about 'common families'. 3 - The wings, vertical and horizontal tail planes, engines, landing gears, flight decks are different. 4 - Whereas the A300/310 are traditional aircraft, the A330/340 are fly-by-wire aircraft using computer-assisted flight envelope protection ; this difference has huge implications ranging from wiring to piloting. 5 - There are fuselage differences, not only in length. 6 - The A330/A340 have much higher MTO and landing weights. The 737 NG has shown that such similarities or differences as those listed in points 1, 3, and 5 may be consistent with one amended type certificate. My personal conclusion is that points 2 and 4 above define two different families, even though these use a common cross-section.

Yet, moved in this thread, my post becomes entirely irrelevant. Why discuss what defines a family of aircraft in a 'personal flying experiences' thread ?
