Just looked at the Airline list from Planspotters.net, they quote Emirates as having 127 B777's, 27 -200 and 100 -300. Not sure how up-to-date this is though. Are they the biggest operator of the 777? (Think this list also includes Cargo)

The most interesting Tim Clark's remarks are about the engine :
" To meet Emirates’ performance needs, the 777X’s GE9X will need a water-injection system to ensure that the aircraft can operate comfortably year-round from Dubai on all its required missions. “Unlike earlier demineralised water-injection systems such as on the BAC One-Eleven, this one is all about coolant – very high temperatures at high work rates,” says Clark.
“It makes a very material difference to our operating capabilities in the hot months in Dubai. Without that, the 777-9X doesn’t do that much better in those conditions than the -300ER does today.” "

Clark said the same about the A350-1000. He would not buy more until the first performance numbers become available.

In the Wall Street Journal, Tim Clark vents his dissatisfaction with the 777X's yet not firmed specifications. "Emirates Airline, Boeing Still In Talks Over Jet Order" The article is behind a paywall which can be skirted via a Google query. online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303796404579101390258968498.htmlClark also says that the chance of an order being announced at the coming show "is looking marginal". An attempt to weigh on negociations, or more ?
