That conflicts with the information I received. Source is a user on A.net who claims to work for Airbus UK. Cannot be sure of reliability. What date have you heard? First flight should be on Wednesday or Thursday, depending on the weather. Certainly not October 29.

There is still an escape hatch above the cockpit. will that also be on all future aircraft? If i remember correctly the pilot rest area is located above the cockpit. An escape hatch may helpful in case of emergency?

The A350, like the 787, has fixed cockpit windows that cannot be opened and so has an escape hatch at the top. In all other Airbus and Boeing aircraft, the side cockpit windows which can be opened allow the pilots to evacuate in case of emergencies.
