What I'd really like Airbus to do is to make the raised floor standard on all A380s and allow customers the option of putting 20 inch seats for 10 abreast seating! Now there's your Premium Economy for a third of the price of the usual. Heck, even some Business class seats are around 20 inches wide. You'd be flipping mad to avoid this! Or alternatively, keeping the seats at 10 abreast, you can add 9 inches of width to each aisle and allow your passengers to board faster, go on a walkabout during flight, play golf or whatever. Raising the floor really opens up some nice configurations. 11 abreast can also allow for more spacious or more numbers of Premium seats to be installed while keeping the pax count the same. Or maybe they can add more bars!

I suppose airlines' concern would be that many frequent fliers might trade down from business class. I don't think so, but that's me, I care for upgraded wines and food !

I have just recently flown with Emirates B777-300 seating 3-4-3 changing planes to Emirates A380 same seating and the difference in the width of seats is HUGE. I could imagine that even with 3-5-3 seating there is still going to be more space than 3-4-3 in 777 !
So the whole thing makes sense. Just count the space in B787 and seating 3-3-3 ! Much more space in A380 3-5-3.

I don't like this missing legroom next to the windows. It's a bit like the missing headroom in high-density Eco onboard the A330 next to the windows. I'm a (tall) real world Eco passenger and usually love to sit next to windows. Up to now especially onboard the A380. But it might lose it's special appeal to me.

Sorry Airbus, but this time I just hope no airline takes it!
