The bar part was perfectly reasonable and I think should be a very good feature of today's premium travel for socialising or just to get out of your seat and hang around somewhere where it doesn't feel awkward. But the shower talk was quite cringe-worthy. I mean it shouldn't be a nightmare inducing situation when you are unable to have a 5 minute shower on board in first class.

I mean it shouldn't be a nightmare inducing situation when you are unable to have a 5 minute shower on board in first class. of course not, but I think the emphasis is on the demeanor of the flight attendants which might be a symbol for the notoriously mediocre overall experience you get on most flights operated by US carriers and the fact that there is not a single US carrier even seriously considering to buy A380 aircraft. While employees' rights etc. are certainly debatable, US carriers simply cannot compete with the overall product the gulf airlines (among others) are offering. So while they are running highly profitable operations, they're still complaining about how Emirates et al. are unfairly subsidized instead of just trying to match the quality of the product. While I don't have recent experience with flying on US carriers (other than United, the ones I've flown with don't even exist anymore), I would choose a European or ME carrier over a US Airline in almost every conceivable scenario (at least as far as my personal experience on booking transatlantic flights is concerned, the US Airlines rarely even offered the cheapest fares...).
