MSN 151 took around seven and a half months from convoy to delivery. Could this frame be delivered in 2014? Willy Walsh apparently thought that BA would have nine A380 aircraft by year end.

A delivery before the end of the year is possible if it flies to XFW before the end of August. Assuming 12 weeks assembly in TLS, it will have to fly directly after roll out to XFW. I doubt that will happen.

It would be great if delivery was made in Q4 but as we all know BA's daily service to Singapore is is slated for Q1 2015. More interesting to me is the destinations for the 3 other BA planned frames?

cja I was wondering in fact if the article could have referred to a Financial Year for BA, if their FA is different from the calendar year?... A delivery before the end of the year is possible if it flies to XFW before the end of August With MSN151's breathtaking record of 9 weeks for OF now, I would even say that a ferry flight by mid-September could still leave almost one month and a half for flight tests before the end of the year, doable Though (same with MSN167,MSN160), it depends on what Airbus and the customer plans are, and indeed MSN173 might serve bigger the fleet to increase the route to SIN early February...

We are just getting a tad carried away. I might be biased but it seems BA frames are sailing through all phases of production at the minute. Is it a ramp up or could it be for other reasons?

Up to that they are phasing out their 747-400 - already 8 out last one out in April. They still have 48 of those.

Glad this happened now, TLS was looking a little BA-less!
