Hi Fabien,
I just encountered the following error while trying to upload an attachment. I guess that the free limit has been reached.
KB Error: This forum has exceeded its attachment space limit. Your file cannot be uploaded.
I guess that the alternative is to use Flickr but I think it is less reliable because if the Flickr account is deleted then all links in the posts show missing images; I have seen a few on the forum unfortunately
What is the best option we should use ?

ohhh thanks for the thread helios91, indeed the forum has limited storage capacity of 200MB... I wouldn't have thought we would have reached that capacity so early..................... I guess the only solutions we have is either just copy/paste links indeed (from flickr or elsewhere,...), or delete some of our attachments to free up some of our allocated capacity,... or buy some more capacity but this doesn't seem to be a real solution to me.......... (we have to pay per month.... )

Ok Fabien, I will transform some of my latest posts where I add quite a bit of attachments into Flickr links to free up some space. It is true that each screen capture from FR24 is almost 8 - 900k each time. You add 200 of those and you are almost reaching full capacity.
Thanks

helios91What picture format are the screen captures you make? Maybe you can save some space by converting them.

Fabien, I started the attachment deletion replacing them by Flickr embedded pictures. I think so far I have removed about 25+ attachments so this probably free up about 20-25 Mb.
On the " A350 Flight Tests (2014)" thread where most of my attachments are, I am done with the attachment replacement moving backwards from page 65 to 56 included.
It is a bit time intensive to do so I will continue tomorrow or over the weekend.
The reward though is that it looks nicer to me in the thread using the Flickr embedded image. You can almost see everything without actually clicking on the image to get the full size in Flickr.
Cheers

thanks for your hard work posting helios91, and many thanks for trying to help the storage capacity..... right now the usage is down at 177 MB (out of 200), as it was at 199MB when you posted the thread so I think indeed it really helps! may I say 'Great Success'!

Fabien, I am done with editing what I believe to be most of my messages with attachments. There might be here and there a couple of ones left but the vast majority are now replaced with Flickr links.
Going forward I will use Flickr links
In the future the issue may arise again, so we may want to encourage everyone to use Flickr. I don't know if we could have a generic A380 Bord Flickr account that all members could use. I know it is not that straight forward as it implies sharing a user ID and password.....etc...... but may be something to think about to go around the 200 MB limit and the cost associated with gettin more splace
Cheers

FabienA380, I think we should draw up a simple set of guidelines and information for posters as a separate sticky thread to prevent this kind of thing coming up again and to standardise our use of resources on these boards, etc.
