This is very sad and also very sad for MAS... Could well put MAS very much down with their latest incidents...... If anything goes bad with MAS, could they find somebody to take their A380s ? .........

If anything goes bad with MAS, could they find somebody to take their A380s ? ......... I would prefer to put their A380 troubles aside for the moment and it's too soon to be talking about that now. It just makes my blood boil with rage whenever I see this story all over, a totally unnecessary and reckless act resulting in the loss of 295 innocent lives, and we haven't even had time to move on from the MH370 tragedy. It was supposed to be a good week for aviation news with the Farnborough Airshow and all that going on, but I to see it plastered all over the media makes me want to avoid the world of aviation for sometime.

Sorry and I apologise for my comment, it was indeed misplaced and inappropriate

I do not believe this incident will have influence on MAS as a whole. Everyone understands it is absolutely not their fault - the previous case is not so clear - at least until/if the frame - what is left of it - is found.

I think that a broader issue is emerging : a blatant disregard of the risks incurred when overflying a war zone, where efficient long range ground-to-air missiles were known to be used against aircraft by irregular forces.
In my opinion, ICAO and most leading airlines deserve to share the blame. MH was allowed to fly there, but should not have been, and should anyhow have chosen a different route. It took a tragic shooting to end this dangerous airline practice.

MH was allowed to fly there, And not just MH, the airspace was open (until yesterday) at or above 33,000 ft for all airlines.

Like everyone else, I was extremely shocked, horrified and saddened when I first heard the news. Whilst there have been many air crashes in my (relatively) short life, I don't think I have ever been as emotionally impacted by the loss of an aircraft as I have been with MH17. My condolences and thoughts to the friends and family members of all onboard the aircraft and may everybody onboard rest in peace.

I must be honest and agree with you, I have seen and read about these accidents over the years but this one has really hit me hard for some reason, can't explain it......
