is this airframe subject to EU sanctions against Russia like the UT Air A321's stuck at XFW? if it is it may not get built until the situation is clear

We still don't know. My personal feeling is that there are deferrals on the horizon...

As far as I read in the news all EU-sanctions are limited to 6 month only and so my assumption is that many of them will go away without further publicity round that.
In my view they only do that to look "strong" but only show for the media...

I do believe it is much more complicated and the result will also depend on Russian behavior in Ukraine and their rhetoric towards the Baltics.

I'm very exceptic with this Airline, it hasn't normal profile of A380's operator, besides, diplomatic topics between Rusia and UE doesn't primise will be good.
I think this history can be end like Skymark's history, for it reazon EY maybe is last livery in a lot of time for A380.
You can see, A380 normal profile is flag carrier and/or airlines with good support from its goverments, and Transaero hasn´t it.

I would not say they do not fill the profile.
They do operate right now 20x747 + 14x777 i.e. they have proven they can fill the large birds.

I think Transaero is a capable airline for the A380. However, there is a lot uncertainty due to politics and sanctions. At the same time, it would be interesting to know, if Boeing has started the assembly of the first 748 for UN and if not, when is it due?
