I'm wondering stealthmanbob if there'd be any small space behind the runway where to (almost)touch the planes landing and taking off?.... (somehow similar to SXM?....)

Quick look up in youtube yielded this. Not quite within the touching distance of SXM but still close. Those high fences are annoying though.

((conversation flowing from posts here a380.boards.net/post/59366/thread )) I remember climbing these little stairs once in my lifetime!!! Oh wait, is that where you took that picture of yourself that showed us your fondness for pink hats? P.S. Congrats on moving past 8000 posts!

I love you putting the cruise liner in the sequence, did it do a fly / float by first It needed some fine tuning in a dry dock. Here's a nice little video of what happened after passing Finkenwerder/Teufelsbrück: this is in the middle of the town

Very interesting video Linie 9 I have not seen a dry dock before where the gate(s) come off rather than swinging open. Not sure why they were showing hot air balloons on the two large tv screens thought !

Currently using a boroscope to check my lungs for volcanic dust, the smoke and tar are my own fault. Came out on a newish A321 going back on an oldish B757 I believe, will update when I know which frame they are sending out to help me back to the cold dampness of the U.K. Its its back as an A321 for my flight home !

Gee that is massive!! Thanks Baroque, in fact Linie 9 had taken the picture!! lol Then reminding me, in fact I had put my winter-hat on as it was sunny and not too cold, but still so windy.... Reminds me of those ultra-harsch conditions of plane-spotting at XFW, farthermore if there is rain or snow, low temperatures,..... Huge thanks to all!!
