This was a good production month, as well as a good quarter for Airbus. A320 family deliveries were up 32% in the quarter, even though they were still far from the quaterly average needed to meet the guidance for this year. N.B. just to nitpick, A32x delivery numbers provided for Q1 last year seem to add up to 95 instead of 94.

To neutralise the MCAS in case of an unneeded entry into action, Boeing officially suggests to cutout the electric trim engine, and to use manual trimming instead. As the ET flight has shown that manual trimming may be impossible in certain flight conditions, shouldn't Boeing offer a 'MCAS CUTOUT' command, allowing the crew to block the software while keeping use of electric trimming ?
Of course, that would be an additional difference between the MAX and the NG, but I think we are beyond the point where such concerns could be taken into account.

Except at company/group level, there is nothing such as an official fiscal year. In most (all ?) countries, a company decides the dates at which it closes its financial year. Most companies use the civil year, others use the end of a 'business season' .

This is likely pure PR. No CAF was done so far. So acceptance test and the Transfer of Title was for sure not done yet. You don't expect the Chairwoman of a National Assembly to take such considerations into account when she is on an official visit abroad, do you ?

Is this all pushing for financial year end? It is exciting to see three frames been quickly prepared for delivery at the beginning of the month, but just wonder why the start of this month is so different from Feb & March. I thought Airbus is only focusing on calendar year, not financial year end. Perhaps some specific customer demand ?

I think Airboche's post above should be moved tp the 'ET crash' thread. We are already discussing this saga in three other threads.

On a side note, I know this will be a big task but should have separate threads for each of the Beluga XLs and sort the relevant posts in this thread there? I'm not in favour of too many threads. I think we should have had one only for the five classical Belugas, and one only for the new ones.
