What I find truly impressive about this engine is the amount of daylight seen through front of the fan. A relatively big fan for a smallish core. Gives me the impression that it would be somewhat lighter than any other engine if they were made to the same size. There are few engines of the same size... but still there is. The closest is RB211-535, with fan tip diametre 186 or 188 cm depending on model. (PW2000 is bigger, with 199 cm fan diametre). If you compare CSeries and Boeing 757 side by side, how does Rolls weight and transparency compare to the GTF?

In the section "Other aircraft", there are fora for Bombardier, and for Douglas/McDonnell-Douglas. But nothing for other manufacturers - of which there are several, both present and past.
Where should the "other" aircraft go?
Also, Boeing has fora for 4 models, but there are and have been others. They may not individually have the volume to warrant separate fora, but a designated place for "other Boeings" would seem appropriate.
