I also imagine that Airbus took special steps to make sure MSN 6 would be delivered in 2014. Most likely a strongly worded letter from our favourite airline boss.

...aaaaand it's official. Air Force picks Boeing 747-8i to replace Air Force One. www.reuters.com/article/2015/01/28/us-airforce-boeing-idUSKBN0L12FP20150128A bit irked by this statement however:
"The 747-8 is the only four-engine commercial jet Boeing makes, providing an extra margin of flight safety over the more standard twin-engine planes."
We on the other hand are standard souls deserving of just standard levels of safety...
Air force picks Boeing, who else they gonna choose, they would never have an AB aircraft as airforce one in a million years. Was a bit obvious really.

It's excellent to have EK as one loyal customer but the issue is to find more substantial buyers. One here and there doesn't cut it and some of the current orders might get cancelled. Where are China, India, Brazil, Mexico, Africa when you need them? And where are US Airlines? It's certainly a good transpacific aircraft. We did have an Indian order in the shape of Kingfisher, the least said the better. China are too strict on what flies and what dont, would be nice to see Cathay giving a nice size order though. South America, the only real possibility is TAM, but thats a long shot. North America's only possible would be with Delta, because of the loyalty to boeing scenario. Mexico, i dont think they are big enough to run A380s viably. Africa, only real airline is South African, and in my opinion, they seem now to favour the twin jets with the excepton of a few A340. However we could be surprised if AB decide to offer A380neo. Then thing may get interesting.

This is starting sound like it could happen. Bring on the A380 in Turkish livery to LHR.
