Btw should moderators move the only post in this thread? I think in fact this thread has been misused, with the (now~) missing thread "Airports A380 ready" that we had in the previous forum... I'll move the posts accordingly

Is ONT A380-ready or just diversion airport?.... ONT is used as an alt because of its long runways. Gates and other facilities are far from being A380 ready. With no A380 airline flying there ( ONT Has 9 airlines visiting from USA, CAN and MEX only) , I think the chances that ONT becomes A380 ready are less then remote.... Sorry Fabien

Taoyuan Airport (the main airport serving Taipei) is getting 2 A380 compatible gates and according to the airport, EK, SQ and CZ have indicated interest in flying their A380s to the airport. focustaiwan.tw/news/aeco/201505040011.aspx

I just flew DXB to JED with Emirates. Deplaned was by four stairs to the main deck. I understood that for the flight back to DXB boarding would be done by the same stairs. I think the concentration on airports with an 2 or 3 air bridges stand that takes an A380 is an obsession. Any airport that has the runway and taxiways and a stand, even being remote, for the A380, is in principle A380 ready.

I just flew DXB to JED with Emirates. Deplaned was by four stairs to the main deck. Where are two of the stairs? 1 is in front, wide and straight, descending forwards, and 1 is in the rear bulkhead, narrower and in a half-circle, but the other two?

Well the Boarding in Johannesburg was also with just 2 Bridges for the Air France A380
So its possible to do that. It just takes a little longer...

Two to the doors in the front, doors L1 and L2 and two behind the wing, doors L4 and L5. I do not talk about the stairs on the inside of the airplane, but stairs on the outside instead of airbridges.
