Why Why Why, would you buy a new premium product and then stack people in like that ? Buy some A330s instead !

But more concerning, Dear Qatar, please don't. I'm gonna say that AAB will go full U-turn on this unless he wants to destroy his bread and butter long haul aircraft's appeal! OTOH, Airbus has been chatting up the prospect of introducing further market segmentation. Perhaps a few airlines out there may want to introduce a small budget economy section in the cabin like the premium economy section.

Perhaps a few airlines out there may want to introduce a small budget economy section in the cabin like the premium economy section. I don't think that would work psychologically. For once, the majority of people wants to travel as cheap as possible, and secondly, the lowest comfort class has to be perceived as the standard. You can always have special offers above standard, but who wants to fly below standard and be exposed to the contemptuous looks of those sitting in the standard seats? I think, if you go for 10 abreast, it will be for the entire economy class. But I also thought that this would rather be for the likes of AirAsia, and less for Qatar.

My guess:
LUFTHANSA !
The last thing they are interested in are their customers. Their employee are interested in themselves not in their customers. They are the most often striking airline in the world - it says something, it becomes the part of the company culture. Just remember how their A380 economy class is made.

Perhaps a few airlines out there may want to introduce a small budget economy section in the cabin like the premium economy section. Just came across the Dubai Airshow Product presentation briefing. It looks like a sales professional had a go at that image, took out the refreshing honesty, and replaced it with hollow marketing blah blah. (I realize this is now adapted to the A380, but anyway...) Have a look:

Of course, a phrase like 'basic transportation', which does not belong to marketing language, was taken out.

Of course, a phrase like ' basic transportation cattle transport', which does not belong to marketing language, was taken out. There, I fixed it.

With the 4 're-ordered' SIA 350s, guess what the total current A350 order number is? = 787 ! (above quote from the A350-900ULR Thread)And with 10 deliveries, the backlog is 777.

AFAIK the first A350 previously intended for TAP was MSN90 (2017 delivery) and it will be interesting to see who will take up TAP's production slots
