I didn't like either of them. We'll see how it looks in real life...

I too would agree with this statement of "JetBuddy" from a.net
"Wow they chose the worst of two awful liveries"

Yeah I don't think there is any reason to change it either. EasyJet has one of the few liveries I will always recognize, and this is also true for everyday people who only care about getting from A to B, so I can't really understand the need for rebranding.

You don't work for a rebranding company! And that means ? You do ? I think jonathan means that a salesman for a rebranding company would find plenty of reasons to rebrand that company, the most compelling of them being that he would be earning his living in the process !

With this new easyJet scheme I get the distinct feeling that branding companies are running out of ideas!!

I would consider it more as a refresh than a rebranding. From a PR perspective I can understand why they would want to do this. They don't want to make huge amounts of changes but they wish to look like they are moving forward. Changing the livery, if only subtly shows overtly that they are "moving with the times". In a world where there is little to differentiate LCCs this kind of thing can go a long way in convincing the public to fly with them instead.
Personally I have an absolute hatred of Ryanair but will happily fly Easyjet even though I know they are effectively the same product. I just feel a lot more loyal to Easyjet I guess because I prefer their brand/attitude.
